Q:
How to join maps together? ... What does function Open Atlas do?
A:
It opens atlas (Only for Russa maps, function "Open Atlas" with Garmin
maps does not work).
In "My documents" folder (on PocketPC) create a folder (for example
"Atlas"). Put all maps in there - overview map, all pieces of your
choice. Run Russa. File’Open Atlas’Create atlas from the folder. Russa
will create an index file (to find maps in milliseconds) and open the
map in the place you are in (if you have GPS connected of cause). This
process will take less than a second, even on 256Mb of maps. On next
start Russa will open atlas and point to the map which corresponds to
your current location. Map borders are almost invisible. If you know
where the border is, you can see it only at the most detailed level.
Maps are loaded automatically. You can control the process using Maps in
cache gauge (number of currently loaded maps at the moment) and File
name (the filename of the map loaded on screen).
Q:
Where I can view/download maps which are more detailed that ones in your
Download?
A:
There is a lot of free maps for Russa and Garmin in the Internet, ex.:
Q:
How can i translate the menus of Russa in other language? Is the source
code of language file 0409.rll available?
A:
0409.rll is resource-only DLL - this format is standard one, known as
Windows resources defined by Microsoft. There is wide variety of tools
from 3rd party developers supporting this format and allowing to
localize any application compatible with this standard.
We recommend to use
RL Tools (The documentation is inside, RL Tools keeps track of
changes in resource set, so it allows to translate only new/changed
strings each time 0409.rll is updated).
Q:
What functions do you plan to add in the future?
A:
We plan all know functions which are implement in existing GPS
navigators including auto-routing. GPSMapEdit will have full support for
RUS format. All functions will be accessible even in free version. All
updates are also free of charge.
Q:
What limit is imposed on the size of tracks and number of waypoints?
A:
The limit is only amount of available memory (My Documents\GPS Tracks
and Waypoints\).
